The Mouse Trapper is the first part of the sixth episode of the series Heathcliff and Dingbat. This is based on Heathcliff, rather than Dingbat. It is followed by second part of the episode: Lion Around the House.
Synopsis[]
Heathcliff is playing with a mouse around the house, until the mouse exterminator comes to clear the area from the mice. Heathcliff tries to foil his plans.
Plot[]
Heathcliff is chasing a mouse around the house. At first, he manages to corner the rodent with his trick with the fake mousehole, only to get his nose snapped, but in the next room, he uses the carpet to catch the mouse successfully. When he hears the door bell, Heathcliff disposes the mouse into the fish bowl and opens the door. It turns out that a mouse exterminator was hired by Heathcliff's owners to get rid off mice, which doesn't impress Heathcliff.
The mouse spots the exterminator and flees into the hole. Its new enemy prepares a vaccum cleaner to suck the rodent out of the hole. Heathcliff presses on the cable, which renders the device not operational. When the exterminator checks the tube by looking through the muzzle, Heathcliff stretches the cable - as a result, the exterminator's head is sucked into the vacuum cleaner. Heathcliff first offers the mouse help against the exterminator, then he pretends he did nothing wrong, but the exterminator suspects him of sabotaging his work.
The next scene takes part in the kicthen, where the mouse hides itself inside a salt jar. The exterminator is searching for the rodent, but the scent of pepper disturbs him quite badly, especially when Heathcliff blows him a cloud of pepper right into his face. The sneeze is so potent, that the exterminator breaks the wall with his own body, and lands outside the house. When he sees Heathcliff standing on the opposite part of the hole, the man flees.
The mouse shows Heathcliff gratitude by kissing his cheek, which renders Heathcliff hungry. His bad side convinces him to eat the mouse, despite the protests from Heathcliff's good side. The mouse evades being eaten and the chase goes on, causing a literal mayhem at the house. At the end of the episode, Heathcliff and the mouse are standing near the mess they caused at home.
