The Great Chase is the second part of the tenth episode of the series Heathcliff and Dingbat. This is based on the Heathcliff, rather than Dingbat. It is followed by third part of the first episode: LeMans-ter Rally .
Synopsis[]
Heathcliff and Spike play the great chase with going after a lunchbox containing a delicious sandwich.
Plot[]
In a beautiful day, Heathcliff is walking by a nearby brick wall, as he does he notices Spike is seeking out for food, as the cat also looks out of curiousity, Spike was looking at a man with a huge sandwich. The man couldn't finish his meal and decides to take a nap, this give opportunity for anyone to steal it. Spike goes after the lunchbox as Heathcliff watches, Spike has it as the cat steals it from him, upon realizing Spike stops and follows behind and grabs Heathcliff by the tail as he steals it back from him, the two go back in forth fighting over the lunchbox.
Spike then uses a plunger attached to a string to Heathcliff's behind that flings him away, and for Spike to get the lunchbox back as he rides off on a skateboard. Heathcliff is flinged into someone's house as they kick the orange intuder into the air then colliding into a street pole as Heathcliff falls into a passing by Spike untententially. With the lunchbox going on the cat's palms, the bulldog fights Heathcliff for it, the orange tabby interupts telling him that their lunch is on the move on the skateboard. They both chase after the lunchbox to leading them to getting run over by a truck.
The lunchbox in skateboard passes as Heathcliff plans stop the Spike by using a blown up verision of himself called the "Inflatable Heathcliff Doll" with a helium bottle. as Spike is running at Heathcliff and grabs ahold of the "Heathcliff" balloon to get himself in the air regreting it for his fear of heights. Heathcliff slingshots a bird to pops the balloon to make Spike tremble to the ground. Spike continues to chase after Heathcliff as the cat finds the skateboard stopping cause of friction. The skatebaord continues moving thanks to a man from a manhole come out heading towards Spike. As the lunchbox in the skateboard passes by Heathcliff chases it, Spike sees a uses a lasso to stop Heathcliff and suceeds on tieing him back, Spike continues to catch up to the skateboarding lunch box till he gets on a flipping fence door, as Heathcliff comes behind to see in the fence. The skateboarding lunch box goes back at the hill to gain potential enengy to kinetic enengy as it reverse back to there way. Spike insist on looking over the fence to Heathcliff deciding to flip the fence door as the lunchbox in the skateboard goes through, Heathcliff chases after sandwich as Spike follows behind.
The skateboard throws the lunchbox back to it's orignal owner, who just woke up from his nap and eats his sandwich. As the man is glad that his sandwich wasn't stolen. As Spike and Heathcliff watch eat him, the dog then expects Heathcliff to says a cliche saying, as Heathcliff says variety of them, as Spike regrets asking.
