Showbiz Shenanigans is the fourth part of the elevnth episode of the series Heathcliff and Dingbat. This is based on Heathcliff, rather than Dingbat. It is followed by first part of the next episode.
Synopsis[]
The Creeps try to work in show-business while making a movie.
Plot[]
The episode begins with the Creeps dashing around the city in their vehicle. They have an appointment at the Mammoth Studios, where a Frankenstein movie is being made and they received roles there as stuntsmen. Inside the studios, they meet their employer and co-workers handling a movie.
Their first task is to perform the scene with falling down chandelier. Dingbat replaces the actor playing Frankenstein as a stuntsman, while Sparerib volunteers to handle the falling chandelier. He does as he is told, using a hand in the box. The only issue is that Sparerib did not think about securing himself, which causes the chandelier and Sparerib to fall down. Dingbat avoids being hit by the falling chandelier, but Sparerib lands on the table and gets ejected right at the curtains. The movement causes a mess at the studios, for the cameraman has to evacuate himself before Dingbat and Sparerib being ejected at him. The director gets infuriated by the mess caused by the Creeps, who grab Noboby at the camera cart they took over, then the Creeps head outdoors, where they disturb a love movie set in 19th Century. The actress there literally faints of fear, when the man whom was to kiss gets replaced by Sparerib against the plot.
In the next scene, the Creeps are supposed to replace the actor playing Frankenstein at the cliff. Dingbat is supposed to run from the ghost (played by Sparerib and Nobody) and leap to the chasm, which is secured by a metal mesh. The scene is carried out in typical Creeps' way - Sparerib stumbles upon own ghost suit, hits Dingbat and the Creeps fall into the chasm, avoiding the security mesh. Sparerib morphs himself into a glider, which doesn't save the Creeps from landing in the river. The director is mad at Creeps once again. After venting his rage out, he sends the Creeps to following movie scene, when Frankenstein's monster encounters a water dragon while travelling by raft. Dingbat treats the dragon with artificial jaws, which bite the dragon's legs and reveal that the dragon is actually a mechanical device. The director is so mad, that he chews his beret in rage, while Sparerib acts as raft's motor. The power hasn't been adjusted to the vessel, which causes the Creeps bail out at river's curve.
Once ashore, Sparerib grabs a coffin from Nobody's inside with a mummy inside. Dingbat shapeshifts into a bat and the mummy morphs into quite an attractive human female. Dingbat grabs the bandages and wraps the mechanical water dragon, which starts to spin around. The director is mad once again, then he has to flee before the spinned construct, which moves into a Wild West scenery only to spoil a scene with a wagon in front of a saloon. The Creeps reach the director, who seems worried about his production and other movies spoiled by his creepy hirelings. Sparerib attends to solve the issue by grabbing an egg he had under his plunger. The egg grows and an actual dragon hatches using a fire breath, just like the mechanical one. The beast turns against the Creeps and starts chasing them around the movie studio, the director joins the chase.
The episode ends with the Creeps running away from the dragon and director.

Trivia[]
- When Sparerib morphs into a glider, he doesn't have covered wings to glide in the air. In reality, it is unlikely that humanoid bones without proper surface to catch air would travel in the air in such way.
