Pinocchio Rides Again is the second part of the ninth episode of the series Heathcliff and Dingbat. This is based on Heathcliff, rather than Dingbat. It is followed by third part of the episode: Bungling Baby Sitters.

Synopsis[]

In today's "Heathcliff Fan Club Meeting" issue, Heathcliff reads about "Heathcliff Pinocchio" (a parody of Pinocchio) to his kitten fans,

Plot[]

In today's "Heathcliff Fan Club Meeting" issue, Heathcliff reads about "Great Grand Uncle Heathcliff Pinocchio" (a parody of Pinocchio) to his kitten fans, He starts the story, Pinocchio of course started as a stuff animal in Mr. Geppetto, which was the toymaker's favorite due to it's humor, Mr. Geppetto place the stuff doll to a chair, and heads to bed, wishing for a real cat of his own.

One night, awhile everyone in their slumber, a sprixie of pixie dust that turns out to be a fairy in Mr. Geppetto's house, the fairy turns to the stuffed animal to real cat, as fairy named Maralene introuduce itself, as it's tell him it will be his Fairy Godmother, as the Heathcliff Pinocchio requests for wishes, as the fairy declines and tells him not lie, as Heathcliff agree, turning out to be a lies as his tree like nose grows to snap back as his face, then lying and again, gets a nearby a carriage of Strongoli's carriage, as he noticed, the fairy leaves to go to meet Cinderella.

Heathcliff is eager to see the outside world, he gets heled by a cane off the window by Strongoali (a possible ancestor to Grubs), the man asks if he wants to join to the big show, the cat soon requests, Theur go to a theme park called Strongoli Fun Park, many people pay to see the show, Uncle Heathcliff has to do the "Flying Dare Devil Leap" dressed in a devil custom, Heathcliff gets afraid of either stage fright or height fright, Strongoli pushes him so the show begins, he falls till he blows a the balloon that safely come back up the platform, he was, he drops Strongoil who holds on the balloon, he tickles the man to causing him to fall to the ground.

Strongoil the Great use the magic act of "Sawing Heathcliff in half", when the act is finished, Heathcliff gets up to realize the saw didn't do nothing, but when he decide to go, his realized the his body is in half after seeing his bottom half left his upper half. Strongoil gets bigger plans with Uncle Pinocchio with the champ being the Mohamet Alley Cat vs all-comers, Heathcliff is the ring with his opponent, Punchy (the boxer from Doggone Dogcatcher). Round 1 starts the two fight each other, Punchy is thrown back and right back, the boxer is temporary kind, when round two came, Punchy goes back at the ring, Heathcliff cover the scene as he beats up Punchy and ties him up like a a human pretzel, round three starts, Punchy runs to his opponent, he misses due Heathcliff uses spring shoes to avoid his attack, the boxer sprinted by the ring and is launched out the boxing ring, with Punchy's defeated, Heathcliff gets the win.

For Heathcliff's final act of his career, in the act called "The Flying Cat", Strongoli will be shooting Heathcliff from the canon, the cat had a bumbling feeling about his career, so Heathcliff decides to get out of canon from the back, and ties Strongoil's leg to the rope, as the man fires the canon, get him launched out the rocket the theme park get fly into his next act with to a whale named Meanstro the Whale (this stories version of Monstro the Whale) swallows the man to get him flowing out of the whales water hole in the air, Strongoli decided that Heathcliff's showbiz career over.

Strongoil brings Heathcliff back home at Mr. Geppetto's house, before he does, he tells him not to call him, he throws him back inside and says goodbye to the cat. Heathcliff reunites with Mr. Geppetto as the two are sleeping in bed together.

It has became night, Heathcliff finishes the story with "And everyone lived happily ever after!" after he finished reading the story, one of the kittens asks if this was a true story, Heathcliff replies would he lie, his nose historically grows like in Pinocchio, the joke gets the kittens laughing as Heathcliff smirks at screen.

Trivia[]

  • One of the few episodes that plays the alternative title card theme, with the others being the first two Heathcliff segments (Feline Fugitive and Doggone Dogcatcher).
  • Punchy the boxer makes an appearance in this episode as Heathcliff's opponent in boxing.
  • The episode is based loosely on Pinocchio.
  • Uncle Pinocchio "Heathcliff", Mr. Geppetto, and Strongoalie, could be possible ancestors of the now day Heathcliff, Mr. Nutmeg, and Grubs.
  • The Strongoli is given a more German/Russian accent than the modern day Grubs.
  • The black and yellow kitten resembles the males cats that appeared in an later episode and the opening in the next series.
