Nice, thank you so much for fixing that! Sometimes there are duplicate pages, I don't really know how they come here, but they do! I'm not sure if you or any of the other Admins here use the Admin Dashboard, but there's a nice little feature that allows you to see all of the names of all of the pages on the Wiki! I've found a couple of duplicates there and its nice to see if any pages have a transcript page but not a gallery page, or vice versa!
Hey, PinkSquid5. Something odd has been going on to FANDOM since yesterday... I was adding gallery and transcript pages for some season 2 episodes of Heathcliff & the Catillac Cats. And somehow, the number of pages isn't changing. Currently, there's 996 pages in total, but it keeps saying there's 993 or 990, like it can't keep track of how many pages were created. I know that there was some kind of "Database locked" thing going on yesterday, but FANDOM still hasn't fixed everything since the number of pages don't even change, even though it's supposed to... And no, there weren't any pages deleted recently.
Hi again Regular Badger! That’s strange, but I think I know what the problem may be! I’m not sure what you mean by “Database Locked”, but I don’t think that’s the problem here! Your problem may be that you just need to clear the cache on the page. I know that if you change anything on the CSS feature, such as adding code to customize certain parts of the Wiki, the page says that you might need to “bypass your browser’s cache” to see any of the changes. By the way, I’m referring to this link. If you click on it, it should list all of the various ways to clear cache. If you’re on an iPad, like me, you may need to log out to see anything. If you go to the Heathcliff Wiki on a private or incognito tab, the number of pages is different. I’m not sure if it’s the correct number, I tried it and it said 986 instead of 996! XD
Yep, I added the 1,000th page here. Most Heathcliff & the Catillac Cats season 2 episodes had no gallery or transcript pages, so I'm adding them. The 1,000th page added here is "The Cat and the Pauper/Transcript"
Before you go, I have an off-topic question. Do you have a picture of the Catillac Cats from the comics? I noticed you uploaded image of Wordsworth, Mungo, Hector, etc. from the comics, but do you have an image that has all of them in one picture?
They're already on the wiki, and I just put them in Heathcliff (Character)/Gallery. (BTW, I had to upload a higher quality version of the 2/20/2018 comic (the one with Wordsworth in it compared to the 7/20/2016 one) since the quality on that upload was low
You know, Wildbrain (aka DHX Media, the company that owns this and other DiC Entertainment shows) should make a reboot/revival of Heathcliff & the Catillac Cats some day. Besides those Heathcliff comics from 2016 and 2018, the Catillac Cats haven't made a new official appearance in 35 years. But I don't know if that'll ever happen (despite the fact that companies are relying more on nostalgia these days). Plus, if a reboot ever gets made, they should at least do it right instead of ruining it like how Cartoon Network handles their reboots. Another problem is that many of the original voice actors had passed away, including Stanley Jones (who died in 1998) and Ted Zeigler (who died in 1999). But there might be some good replacements if done right, like Frank Welker, since he was gonna be the voice of Heathcliff in the unreleased CGI straight-to-DVD movie Heathcliff: Bad Kitty. And I think Tom Kenny or Richard Kind (who did the voice of Tom in the 1992 film "Tom and Jerry: The Movie") would be good replacements for Riff-Raff. Plus, they should bring back Donna Christie (the voice of Cleo), Danny Mann (the voice of Hector) and Derek McGrath (the voice of Spike) if a reboot ever gets made, since they're still alive. Plus, if it does happens, Heathcliff and Riff-Raff might finally cross paths and meet each other after 35 years of waiting for it to happen
I agree, we do need a new cartoon or at least a movie! I keep hearing about fans wanting reboots and companies are actually reviving shows, so why not something as classic and iconic as Heathcliff? I’ve heard a little about the Heathcliff: Bad Kitty movie, but do we know why it wasn’t released? Cartoons, especially hand-drawn animation, take years to make, I’m very surprised that it wasn’t properly released to the public.
Yeah. And it kinda sucks how Heathcliff: The Movie was just a compilation of episodes rather than being an actual movie. Plus, alongside the unreleased Heathcliff: Bad Kitty movie, there was also gonna be an animated TV series that would've ran for 52 episodes and would've been made more for adults. In 2012, a live-action/CGI hybrid film of Heathcliff was announced. The company that worked on the live-action Alvin and the Chipmunks movies was gonna make the film. But as of 2020, no new information about the film has been announced. So that film could also be cancelled as well.
Oh wow, that’s crazy! Whenever I would hear about unreleased Heathcliff movies or cartoons, I always thought that they were fan-made. But it just seems that companies don’t think Heathcliff deserves a chance on the big screen or on the television.
Yeah. And somehow, Garfield gets all of the attention while Heathcliff doesn't. ViacomCBS and Nickelodeon recently acquired Paws, Inc. (the company that owns the Garfield franchise). Because of this, a new animated Garfield series is currently being made and will air on Nickelodeon. Although CBS did also acquired the rights to stream Heathcliff & the Catillac Cats (and other shows owned by DHX Media/Wildbrain) on their CBS All Access streaming service.
Yeah, the Catillac Cats don't get as much attention these days. And another thing, if a reboot ever gets made, I hope they make it more of a "labor of love" rather than a shameless cash-grab that only exists to sell toys and merchandise (considering how studio executives are these days, as they'll most likely have full control over the series and end up ruining the show instead of giving people who are ACTUALLY creative full control over it). Plus, another thing that should probably be done if a reboot gets made is that they could develop the characters more. One common criticism that the original show gets is that most of the characters' traits are tropes and that they "lack personality". So yeah, I think they should probably add more character development in the reboot.
Also, someday they should remaster the original series in HD as well. There's a software called Topaz Video Enhance AI, which upscales and enhances videos in HD or 4K quality without being all pixelated (it actually works and it really makes SD-quality videos look like it's in HD). Somebody could actually do a fan-made remaster of some (or all) episodes from the original show and upscale them to HD or 4K quality (without looking too pixelated and low-quality) since so far, the only way you can watch the original episodes is on DVD, on streaming services such as CBS All Access and Starz.com and on YouTube at 480p quality. Plus, I've seen some videos of how animation is upscaled with the software (including part of an episode of Disney's Recess, part of an episode of The Simpsons, the Dragon Ball anime intro and the 2003 Teen Titans intro). So I believe it would be possible to remaster the whole series in HD or 4K. Here's a video showing a part of an episode of Top Cat upscaled in HD showing off the potential of the software (with a comparison to the SD version): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2T3u72LMLc
Awesome! I didn’t know that it is possible to make an SD video into an HD one, I sure learn a lot from you! And I agree, if there isn’t going to be a new Heathcliff movie, the least they can do is remaster the cartoons!
Another thing they should do if a Catillac Cats reboot ever gets made is that they should give it more of a serious tone, like they should make it more action packed and continuity-driven as well as being made more for teens and adults (while still retaining the original show's style of humor). In fact, I think they should split it into two segments like the original (the first segment would be very similar to the original, where it's more comedy-driven and episodic and the second segment would be more story-driven and action-packed while still staying true to the original source material).
I agree with a lot of what you just said, the reboot should be very reminiscent of the original 80s adaptation! I agree with keeping the same "style of humor" and even dividing the episode into two segments, but did the original also have the "serious tone" you mentioned? I haven't watched all of the Heathcliff episodes yet, so I don't really know everything the show has to offer! :D
Hey, I was working on the gallery for the episode Christmas Memories, and I put in a WIP template to let people know that I was putting the images in the gallery and nobody else was allowed to edit it until it was done. But a user named Mmandmcb14 was uploading the images without reading the WIP template. This is the second time I had to deal with an editing conflict from him. The first time was when I was doing the gallery for the episode Repo Cat.
Hello again! Hmm, I understand your trouble, have you tried protecting the page? Protecting a page helps to prevent unwanted Users from editing it! I’m not entirely sure how it works, but give it a shot, see if it solves the problem! If it doesn’t work, then I’ll have to think of something else.
I just finished the gallery for the second Catillac Cats episode (Carnival Capers), and this time, I remembered to turn the protection on. I set it to "admins only", and it really worked. I didn't have to deal with any edit conflicts.
I understand, and I don't think there are any requirements to become an Admin or a Bureaucrat! Since you're asking me personally, I can give you the rights right away, without question.
But if they're weren't any active Bureaucrats or Admins, then you would have had to send an Adoption Request. I'm not the one that accepts or declines these requests, but I know that they encourage editors to have made edits for at least a week and to have created at least one new page on the Wikia you want to adopt.
But, again, you won't have to make an Adoption Request because I am an active Admin and I can give you the right right away! I did look at your contributions and it's looks like you would make a great Admin for the Heathcliff Wikia! :D
Oh, and about the other Admin, don't worry too much about him, he's always like that! He doesn't talk much, but I gave him the Admin rights because of all of the edits and information he added!
I'm going to try to give you the rights, it's been a while, but I hope I remember where to go! XD I'll talk to you later!
Just wanted to ask, if you still appreciate trolling on the Wiki - the user you unblocked has just confessed to be a mere troll and identity thief https://heathcliff.fandom.com/wiki/Thread:5537 - read JennKing92's message with comprehension.
Apart from his teenage idiocy, he called us both a term he finds offensive. I find his cringey hilarious, but how about you?
Hello again TeeJay87, sorry for not replying to your message immediately. Frankly, I wouldn't block anyone, even if they were a "troll" from another Wiki. What matters is if they mess up this Wiki, such as creating pages with inappropriate names or spamming pages, that's when I would block them for a week. If someone comments something rude or inappropriate, I would advise you to delete those comments, rather than blocking the User who created the comment. I still need to create a page with rules, I plan on working on it today!
Comments like those written by trolls shouldn't be deleted in my opinion - they should be put on display as a warning against troublemakers to show them, what do they risk by showing off their jackassery. If you check Garfield Wiki, have a look at the comment section below the article I developed https://garfield.fandom.com/wiki/Penelope_Pussycat especially stuff written by trolls and the way they were clashed.
