Lion Around the House is the second part of the sixth episode of the series Heathcliff and Dingbat. This is based on Heathcliff, rather than Dingbat. It is followed by third part of the episode Window Washouts.

Synopsis[]

Heathcliff rival his love for Sonja to an escaped mountain lion.

Plot[]

In the middle of the night, the dogcatcher is driving in his truck with a mountain lion supposed to be delivered to the zoo. The cougar escapes the cage by it's roars. At the same time, Heathcliff is preparing for his date with Sonja.

The Mountain Lion appears behind Heathcliff with him roaring as Heathcliff puts a trash can lid in his mouth as Heathcliff goes to the penthouse as the lion follows, where he meets Sonja, she noticed the lion who she thought was Heathcliff's friend, which the mountain lion falls in love with as Sonja exclaims she likes tall guys, Heathcliff gets jealous of the lion, but falls off the platform landing back on the trampoline, Heathcliff then grabs the lion's tail tying it throughout upstairs causing the cougar to be crashed the door, Heathcliff closed, the orange tabby assumes to succeed when the lion opened the door, with a extended tail, the door flattens Heathcliff as he conscience.

There date is taken to french restaurants, Heathcliff and the Mountain Lion look angry at each other, as Sonja reminds them about their day, Heathcliff gets fish for Sonja, when the cougar eats the fish, this was Heathcliff's last straw the orange cat then challenge to fight the cougar, Sonja watches a Heathciff was thrown as he goes back to fight, second time he was launches to a street light, still determining to fight again with Sonja telling him shouldn't be fighting.

The cougar now holds Heathcliff and is about to defeat him with his knuckle, luckily for the orange cat the dogcather's truck arrives, with Grubs the dogcatcher exclaiming that the "tall cat" is actually a mountain lion, with confusion on Heathcliff face, the puma roars to show that he was a mountain lion, after realizing, Heathcliff quickly grabs a steak and throws inside the truck, trying to lure the mountain lion to run inside, with Grubs holding the door and after the lion runs in Grubs closes it, he then starts the truck to return the cougar to the zoo, Sonja thanks Heathcliff for defending from the mountain lion, with Heathcliff passed out as she looks at the fourth wall.

Trivia[]

  • This episode is the only Heathcliff and Dingbat episode to have Grubs the dogcatcher in a minor/non-antagonistic role.
    • Becuase of this role, he has very little dialogue in the episode.
  • One of the few episodes where Heathcliff is lose/defeated in the end.
  • This is one of the fewer episodes where Heathcliff does not laugh or giggle.
  • The mountain lion in this episode is proven to be even stronger than Heathcliff.
