Heathcliff of Sherwood Forest is the second part of the fourth episode of the series Heathcliff and Dingbat. This is based on Heathcliff, rather than Dingbat. It is followed by third part of the episode Safari Saps.

Synopsis[]

Heathcliff is Robin Hood - the most wanted noble brigand, who saves Sonja and the good people of Sherwood from the local taxpayer, Grubs the Dogcatcher as Sheriff of Nottingham.

Plot[]

The cartoon starts with: A wanted poster for Heathcliff (as Robinhood) for $100 dollars as the reward as Heathcliff shoots arrows that changed the reward to $100 to $5000, as Heathcliff respond of being rewarded short, as Heathcliff hears a damsel-in-distress call and heads over to the scene, which turns out to be a white she-cat being Sonja being chased by the dogcatcher as a taxpayer, he has a net to catch her with, he plans to put her in jail, for not paying her taxes as she hasn't payed them as she needs the money for her sick mother, Heathcliff is up top of a branch of a tree bravely uses the sword-tipped arrow to cut the dogcatcher's net as he was about to catch Sonja, his net was cut by the sharp-tipped arrow as the taxpayer Grub notices that it's Heathcliff's typical trick, the sheriff quickly chase back to pursue successfully catches Sonja, In the clutches of the taxpayer sheriff has Sonja in his wagon, Heathcliff uses the plunger arrow to pulling the cart apart from the running horse the sheriff is riding on, without realization the saddle would bounce to the ground to leading him to a falling to a cliff to a pond with his horse watching.

The dogcatching sheriff gets mad, with Heathcliff receiving Sonja from the cart, she thanks him by calling him her hero.

The sheriff takes the money from the poor citzens in town as the greedy sheriff heads out on his carriage with a donkey with all the town's money, Heathcliff disguise himself as a tree to sneaks in by the sheriff and heads to by the bridge as Heathcliff leaves a basket of apples in the bridge for the donkey, as it works as the donkey enjoys the apples as Grubs demands the donkey, Heathcliff sneaks under the bridge to tear one of the bags releasing grain out of it, Grubs tries to force the donkey to continue moving the donkey, as Heathcliff swept the raft away to give to the village, Grubs still trying make the stubborn donkey move it decides to the go without him, he chased after it, he succeeds catching it, he realizes that the bags are empty, he hears the citizens cheers for Heathcliff with the town's grain, as the sheriff goes in the river and to pulls the drainplug and causing the river to drain out of water.

The river dries off, the sheriff runs after Heathcliff, the protagonist calls his underground friends with a horn, the ants help him by carrying the raft, the citizen and Sonja cheers for the hero, the sheriff chases after Heathcliff and his raft holding ants, the sheriff trips over a puddle and fall in one, he would say "why he always wins?"

The citizens cheers at Heathcliff, as they hold both Heathcliff and Sonja with the fair maiden cat is proud of him, as Heathcliff says it's all in a hero's work.

  • The episode is a parody of the book novel, "Robin Hood of Sherwood Forest".
  • This episode marks Sonja's first appearance in the Heathcliff and Dingbat.
    • Though she was briefly seen in a imagination in Feline Fugitive as the episode does not mark her official debut apperance in that episode.
