Health Nuts is the third part of the fifth episode of the series Heathcliff and Dingbat. This is based on Dingbat, rather than Heathcliff. It is followed by the fourth part of the episode: Retail Ruckus.
Synopsis[]
Dingbat and the Creeps land a gig as fitness trainers, tasked with helping an overweight woman lose weight. However, their unconventional methods lead to a series of comedic mishaps along the way.
Plot[]
Inside the cabin of their motorcycle, the Creeps warm up before heading to their new job as fitness trainers. Sparerib struggles to lift weights made from spiked maces bound together, while Dingbat manages to succeed—thanks only to the unexpected help of two spiders. However, when the spiders release their web strands, the makeshift weights come crashing down. After a brief exchange with Nobody, Sparerib takes the driver’s seat, and the Creeps set off to their new gig.
Upon arriving at Bruno's Health Spa, the Creeps quickly settle in, though they discover that the steam room is in a state of disrepair. Just as they are about to tackle the cleaning, their first customer—a visibly overweight woman—arrives. Dingbat and Nobody show her to the steam room as Sparerib tests the equipment. But when the lady sees a skeleton inside, panic sets in, and she tries to escape. Dingbat, transforming into his bat form, intercepts her and explains the situation. As expected, the woman expresses her desire to lose weight. In a misguided attempt to motivate her, Dingbat casually eats an ice cream cone in front of her, only for her to become more upset and dissolve into tears.
Their next scheme involves a bizarre contraption—a coffin attached to a cauldron filled with a mysterious boiling substance. Sparerib lets a dragon out of the coffin, instructing it to breathe fire on the cauldron. The dragon obeys but unexpectedly turns its fiery breath on Nobody, transforming him into a pumpkin pie with eyes, much to the horror of their customer. Initially, it seems the chaotic approach works, as the woman appears to lose some weight, but a moment later, she quickly regains her original shape and makes another attempt to flee.
In their next effort, the Creeps suggest she swim in the pool. Sparerib devises a wildly impractical idea: to speed up the weight loss process, they should place a shark in the water. Luckily, they manage to remove the shark just in time before it can devour their customer. For their final attempt, they decide to use Swamp Flavored Ghoul Aide as a weight loss aid. While the potion works, it has an unintended side effect, causing the woman to shrink instead of lose weight. Frustrated, she grabs a weight and threatens the Creeps with it, prompting them to make a quick getaway on their motorcycle.
