Gold-Digger Daze is the first part of the eighth episode of the series Heathcliff and Dingbat. This is based on the Heathcliff, rather than Dingbat. It is followed by second part of the eighth episode: Hives.

Synopsis[]

After a miner accidentally discards his map out the window when throwing things at Heathcliff. Awhile having the map, Heathcliff and Spike go on a hunt for gold.

Plot[]

The episode starts with Heathcliff singing from the fence for the neighborhood, which annoys a old miner who throws objects at the noisy cat. As Spike plans to land a safe on a oblivious Heathcliff from on top of a tree, before he could, he loses his balance after a box (which has a map inside) thrown by the miner and plummets into the ground. Heathcliff receive a map that is thrown out, he finds that the map leads to a goldmine. Heathcliff then heads off for the gold, Spike hearing the news, he follows behind him. The miner is upset mad that his sleep is ruined and his map being thrown out.

Heathcliff waits for ten minutes in the desert for Spike to snatch the map from his hands in his bike, leaving Heathcliff empty-handed. Thanks to Spike's kleptomania nature and his cleverness, He lets Spike dig for the gold. Heathclliff then inflates a yellow dune buggy for him to ride on. As Spike searches for the gold, Heathcliff relaxes on an hamock, till he decides that Spike deserves a break by grabbing a hold of his pickaxe from his hands throws Spike. The dog attempts to stop Heathcliff from digging till he is tossed again when trying to grab a hold of the pickaxe from orange tabby.

Heathcliff continues digging for gold as Spike plans to drop a slab on the him, As he has trouble with dropping it on him, Heathcliff attempts offers to help, Spike declines, but before leaving, Heathcliff drops a pebble in the slab Spike is standing, this was enough that make the slab drop, before landing Spike successfully lands safely on it. But not safe when the slab gets destroyed into a pothole. Spike is soon kicked out by an angry gopher out of it's tunnel. Heathcliff translates to what the gopher said.

After time digging, Heathcliff finds gold that Spike nabs from his mitts as he escapes in a minecart before Heathcliff reverse the cart to going back, Heathcliff tampers the tracks that lands Spike to a gold separator, Heathcliff uses it, then to the sifter that turns him his body pieces to cans, the bulldog puts himself together, Heathcliff nabs the gold back, as Spike begs for mercy, Heathcliff gives his gratude to Spike's help, he'll share half his gold with him, Spike cheers up as the two call it truce.

As for his part: Spike has to carry Heathcliff in his chair like he's in a vacation, as the dog complain about it's as Heathcliff tells him to stop complaining. The miner appears again with his donkey and snatches the gold from Heathcliff as he finally gets his gold, he leaves out as Spike breaks his deal with Heathcliff as he says there still this will work, the deal is back on. Heathcliff's idea is to sing to the same building the miner lives in, making the man throw out from a pan, a can to his gold, giving Spike and Heathcliff the gold, when Heathcliff mentions that they now have the gold together, Spike's greedy intincts that made him break their partnership to have the gold for himself as Heathcliff follows behind as the two fight over it offscreen.

  • Spike has a speaking role after he didn't had a speaking role in Cake Flakes. He is now potrayed as Heathcliff's rival like he was in two first apperances.
  • This is the first episode to have Heathcliff and Spike work together.
    • This is also the first episode to have both Heathcliff and Spike win.
