Doggone Dogcatcher is the second part of the first episode of the series Heathcliff and Dingbat. This is based on the Heathcliff, rather than Dingbat. It is followed by third part of the first episode: Football Flunkies.

Synopsis[]

The Dogcatcher performs many attempts to catch Heathcliff. None of them is successful.

Plot[]

The episdoe starts with Heathcliff being chased by the dogcatcher as Heathcliff cockliy saying the dogcatcher would never catch him as the dogcatcher replies, as they do a turn, the dogcatcher crashes into a steel door, with Heathcliff exclaim he should've lessoned to his advice as the dogcatcher would only take his advice if he wrote to his dear Abby. Dogcatcher contineus to pursue after the Heathcliff over a fence to find himself landing on rollerskates and goes down a hill on the road through traffic to pass a traffic cop, the skates lead the dogcatcher to go as far to the desert in train tracks where the Dogcatcher changes directions as there's a train behind him. He then jumps off the track and falls as Heathcliff uses net to catch him but the dogcatcher goes through the net into the Dry Gulch Mine getting injuried in the process seen in the next scene.

The dogcatcher is in the chief dogcatcher's office, the chief warns him if he doesn't catch Heathcliff he would be sent to Gobi Desert and catch lizard, unfounrtunly the dogcatcher is allegic to lizards, so he decides to go through training to many dojos. The dogcatcher goes to "Whacky Yu's Karate School" as he given the black belt from the Whacky Yu the karate instructor, he goes at Punchy's Gym to earn the title of "expert boxer" by Punchy the boxer, and then the War College earning "expert at waging war" by a general, behind an alley he earns his "expert dirty street fighter" by Mug, the dogcatcher is now proven to beat Heathcliff.

Heathcliff digs from trash bin finding a fish bone which he found to be yummy, the dogcatcher face up to the orange feline as he tries karate as he is prepare the move on him, Heathcliff holds an anvil on his head, causing him to break apart. The dogcatcher then places tidbits of fish for Heathcliff to get into the trap, with Heathcliff picking up the trail of fish, despite being suspicious he goes along with it, The dogcatcher waits a catch a cat instead catching a lion instead, as it turns out Heathcliff knows and has placed a lion instead of him. The dogcatcher gets maul by the lion he runs away to escape the big cat inside a house, which he think he is safe, he hears sounds and looks at sees a huge shadow silhouette through the light scares the dogcatcher out of the house runs over the lion waiting for him. It turns out to be Heathcliff playing with the lamp to give the illusion.

The Dogcatcher calls his boss that he rather take the job in Gobi Desert collecting lizards than dealing with the Heathcliff. The dogcatcher happy that he is thousands of miles awhile from the Heathcliff as he gets his 5344th lizard. Heathcliff suprises the dogcatcher in top of the metal box, the dogcatcher hoping that the Heathcliff he is talking to is a mirage and the not real, Heathcliff is tempted to open the metal box, the dogcatcher begs for mercy to not open, Heathclff releases all the lizard from the steel container, which they all land on the dogcatcher and escape. The music stops and changes, as it took the dogcatcher six months to catch five thousand and fourty-four lizards, the dogcatcher expresses his frustration and chases Heathcliff into the sunset.

  • The first apperance of the Grubs the Dogcatcher in the series.
  • This is one of the three episodes to play alternative episode title theme with the others being the previous Feline Fugitive and Pinocchio Rides Again.
  • This is the only episode where the ending jingle in a episode stops and intruped by another theme.
  • The Gobi Desert is based on a real life location that is located in Asia.
