Cat in the Beanstalk is the first part of the tenth episode of the series Heathcliff and Dingbat. This is based on Heathcliff, rather than Dingbat. It is followed by second part of the episode The Great Chase.

Synopsis[]

Heathcliff is shown in a parody of Jack in the Beanstalk.

Plot[]

In a quaint little village lived a broke grandmother and her grandson, Iggy. One day, in a moment of desperation, Grandma smashed open a piggy bank, revealing an old I.O.U. note. They were hungry and struggling, and the situation grew dire when Iggy decided to sell their beloved family cow, hoping it could fetch a good price.

Iggy set off to “Bunky Bill’s Used Cows” to see what he could get for their prize Holstein. Upon arriving, Bunky Bill inspected the cow and deemed it unworthy for his stock. However, since Iggy was a new customer, Bunky Bill offered him a handful of magic beans instead, claiming they would be of great value. Excitedly, Iggy hurried home and told Heathcliff about his trade. But when he unveiled the beans, Heathcliff scoffed at the absurdity of trading their cow for mere beans.

When Iggy arrived at his grandmother's house, her anger erupted upon hearing what he had done. In disbelief, she threw the magic beans out the window, scolding him. As Iggy and Heathcliff resigned themselves to their misfortunes, something extraordinary happened: the beans began to sprout, rapidly growing into a towering vine that whisked Heathcliff away, soaring high into the sky.

Heathcliff found himself at the standing on clouds land near the entrance of a colossal castle and, despite the ominous "No Soliciting" sign at the door, he ventured inside. The castle was teeming with strange sights, including a giant sleeping in the corner and a goose that mysteriously laid golden eggs. Just then, Heathcliff stumbles upon a gigantic paw belonging to Spike, who is giant bulldog.

Spike grabbed Heathcliff and, with a menacing growl, asked for his final request. Thinking quickly, Heathcliff expressed a longing to see Paris before he met his end, but Spike disdainfully denied his wish. With his back against the wall, Heathcliff resorted to a cunning trick. He brandished a pinch of pepper and poured it into the bulldog’s nose. The result was a powerful sneeze that sent Heathcliff flying across the the giant's table across with all sorts of food in the table.

Then landing loafs of bread as Spike picks up the plate, as Heathcliff ask if they eat this well, Spike tell him that he has a big mouth for his size, Heathcliff replies by a bottle of champagne into Spike's face, as Heathcliff is running on the table for some foods, he stops when he noticed the giant wakes up as Heathcliff quickly hides inside the mug.

The giant pours hot chocolate in his mug that makes Heathcliff scream in pain, as two lumps of sugar goes on his head and steered in the mug as he becomes dizzy, as the giant sips his mug not noticing that Heathcliff was inisde of there, as the small cat gets inside and tries to break with a saw that results in breaking the giant's teeth, he tries to make a flee before the giant catches by tail, the giant decieds to places Heathcliff with giant Spike to chase him, the cat escape inside a mousehole as Spike collides into the wall. As Heathcliff encounters a giant mouse inside the mousehole and flees out of there as the mouse tells him to stay out! As Spike gets unconsisous and gets back to pursue.

As the Giant verison of Grubs says that it's not entertaining, Heathcliff runs up in the giant's body, he goes through his ear to the other. as the teeny kitty to Spike's nose, as the giant accidently hits Spike's nose, as he misses Heathcliff as the cat escapes, as the giant watches, Spike contines the pursue. Heathcliff frees the goose and escapes out with the giant bird.

As Heathcliff returns home as Iggy wonders where he's been, as Heathcliff tells him the long story as he accompied with the giant goose it's golden eggs that make the family rich!

  • This episode parodies the classic english fairy tale Jack in the Beanstalk.
  • The characters have roles from the fairy tale.
    • Heathcliff taking the role for Jack instead of Iggy.
    • Grubs as Gogmagog the Giant.
    • Spike as the Giant's dog.
  • This is the only episode where Spike and Grubs ever co-star and appeared together.
  • This is the Grubs' last apperance in the series.
