Cake Flakes is the second part of the fifth episode of the series Heathcliff and Dingbat. This is based on Heathcliff, rather than Dingbat. It is followed by third part of the episode Health Nuts.
Synopsis[]
After Mrs. Nutmeg takes Heathcliff to the bakery, the feline protagonist craves on eating a cake.
Plot[]
The episode starts with Mrs. Nutmeg is at the bakery with her cat Heathcliff, she request the baker for almond creme cake with extra frosting, the baker ask how many layers, Mrs. Nutmeg requests for a three layer cake, as Heathcliff craves for these tasty cake, he decides to eat one of the pie, as the baker noticed Heathcliff eat one of his pie as he threatens to put harm to Heathcliff with one of his lives, he runs away as the baker chases after him, trips on two-halfed door, as the baker wish that there where fewer cats, as Heathcliff is walking in his four feet, with a heavenly halo over his head showing he's inoccent, the baker gets up and catches Heathcliff as ask for his final request, as Mrs. Nutmeg sees the baker holding Heathcliff as she scolds the man putting the baker to shame as she wants to know his intentions, he shows that wants to feed him a milk, Mrs. Nutmeg tells him that her grandson, Iggy will pick up the cake in the afternoon, as she leaves with Heathcliff behind her, as the baker despise the cat, but couldn't effort losing a customer like her.
Iggy comes home being chased by Spike after he’s found himself in the property. He manages to outrun the dog by his leash yanks him, this leash is held by his kid owner Muggsy Faber, the neighhood bully. He considers letting Spike out his leash if Iggy keeps crossing his turf. Iggy makes it home to be asked by his grandmother ask him to pick up cake from the baker, Iggy accepts as Mrs. Nutmeg gives him the money, and wants him to bring Heathcliff with him, as the two walk out there backyard, Muggsy and Spike peak out the bush, as the two the eavesdrops on Iggy conversation with Heathcliff about the cake.
Heathcliff spots Muggsy and Spike in the top of the roof as the two laugh, Heathcliff would go for a better spirit than competion, Muggsy commands Spike to go for it, as he stops him as Muggsy's order is for him to go first before Spike, the two dash to get to the bakery, as Heathcliff is aware of scheme.
Iggy arrives at the bakery, baker gives Iggy the cake inside a box, as he admires the cake, Muggsy uses Spike as a step stool to look at the brick wall to grab the box as Iggy and Heathcliff walk by the otherside, Spike steals the box containing the box as Heathcliff insist for Iggy to wait, he jumps over the wall to receiving the box back as Heathcliff beats up Spike in a matter of seconds to throwing him over the otherside side with Iggy, Heathcliff returns to Iggy as the two walk off the scene, Muggsy peaks out as he has a new scheme and picks up a an unconscious Spike.
Muggsy plan is too, to use a rocket for Spike hold awhile in a skateboard to grab the box by grabbing the box from them, Heathcliff leaves a slide for him to go up to the air, Muggsy impling that Spike making him look bad, Spike comes back in a skateboard after going through pipes, Muggsy comments that he'll have better luck finding smarter dogs from the pound, he gets on into the skateboard with his dog Spike to going to the docks, the two cause a leak to a fisherman's boat as it drowns, Muggsy and Spike made out of the dock safely as Muggsy pumps out the water out of his mouth.
With Muggsy and Spike out of the way, Iggy and Heathcliff succefully make it home, with Heathcliff inside the box as he admits it eaten the whole cake, as Iggy worries how he is going his grandma, Heathcliff has it cover as he whistles for Muggsy and Spike to allows them to get the box, Spike approaches it to the box, Heathcliff becomes sick, with the two tired from today, Heathcliff and Iggy walk inside the house as Grandma ask where was the cake as Iggy replies that it got eaten up, as Mrs. Nutmeg checks in the door, in the door to find Spike in the box, for the dog to being accused of eating the cake, as she scolds Spike for something he didn't do, she scares him with his broom, Spike retreating back to Muggsy, Heathcliff gets a stomach acge from eating all the cake, refusing to eat cake again collapsing to floor, Mrs. Nutmeg assumes that Heathcliff hasn't had cake, asks Iggy to buy another cake, as Heathcliff requests that someone to calls him a vet.

- This is the first apperance of Muggsy Faber in the Heathcliff and Dingbat and in animated form.
- Spike doesn't speak in this episode (aside from vocal screams) unlike his two previous apperances.
- As he with his owner Muggsy, which explains why he doesn't speak here.
- The first of the few episodes that Healthcliff loses at the end, due to getting a stomach ache from the cake at the end.
